A Letter from Our Founder

by BODY COMPLETE RX

Hello to you, my Body Complete Rx Family–

I hope this message finds you and your families healthy and well during these unprecedented times. Things have been shifting quite a bit in our office, but it remains our first priority to support you with healthy resources and encouragement through our newsletter, social feeds, blog, and beyond.

In the spirit of staying connected and keeping it real, I wanted to take a moment to share a peek behind the scenes here at BCRX with a glimpse into my own life.

Like many of you, I too am managing this new normal that requires me to fulfill all my usual responsibilities as a CEO in addition to being a full time mom of 4. The struggle is real when it comes to finding balance and continuing healthy habits during this time.

So here is a snapshot of the things that are helping me get through the day right now as I try to find balance and maintain healthy habits during this time! I welcome you to share with me too. I always love connecting with you @samiagore !

#WFH WITH KIDS
Working from my home in my PJ’s has definitely been a plus. By this time, my colleagues are used to conference calls with me that are riddled with frequent interruptions from children (who are normally in school during my working hours) asking for snacks or just needing “Mooooom!!!” for any random reason…including resetting the WIFI because their video games are moving too slow. Yep, this is my life now. Anyone feeling my pain out there? 😩

ACTIVITY TIME
Although things are getting a little stir crazy, I’m happy to be home reconnecting with my children who would otherwise be off busy with their friends or sports activities. My youngest daughter Harmony (16) and I have been connecting over arts and crafts. Painting has been completely therapeutic for her, and I particularly look forward to seeing her bright, cheery paintings going up on the refrigerator each day.

HOMESCHOOLING
Keeping a consistent schedule with four children (ages 6, 15, 16, and 18) has been challenging to say the least. (SN: Anyone else run their computer ink completely dry printing 100+ pages of homework packets??? 🙃 ) Between kindergarten site words, algebraic equations I couldn’t figure out if you offered me a million dollars, and Greek Mythology papers, I am back in school myself! LOL. Despite the academic run-around, we are keeping our head above water and making a way where we can! I’d love to hear how you and your family are holding up!

GOTTA STAY MOVING
Anyone who knows me well knows that the majority of my daily exercise is done in my local gym as I typically share on my Instagram stories. I usually spend 4-5 days a week there, so the closure of my local gym did throw me off a bit. Thankfully, I invested in a cycling bike for my home weeks ago before the world started changing. It was delivered Tuesday and has been helping me to stay moving daily since.

SPRING CLEANING
Finally got around to some spring cleaning this month thanks to this extra time at home. Organized my closet, kitchen cabinets, and storage space. This looks tidy right? Thanks to my children, I could bask in this pantry organization for a good whole 8 minutes!! Don’t ask me what it looks like now. 😏

EATING WELL
Emotional eating has always been a bit of a challenge for me. Being at home, quarantined from normal life has caused me to really lean into not only the principles of BCRX but to fully embrace the lifestyle even more. My emotions have me wanting to consume a half quart of Ben and Jerry’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream or indulge in some “soul food” (Don’t do it, girl!), but I keep reminding myself of how I want to emerge from this time. Rather than slipping back into old habits, I am focusing on self care, positive self talk, and my BCRX program to help me stay on track.

If you are struggling adjusting out there too, know that you are not alone. Every time my brain tries to attack what I know is right, I remind myself of how far I have come. This is how BCRX was started. From my own personal journey so if I know nothing else I know that it’s not just about products to help you, BCRX is a lifestyle. A mindset. Staying committed requires focus and at times of stress things can get hard. But what if you make this the time to really dig in? We are all in this together. Let’s come through this stronger and better than ever!

Keeping things simple is a good way to ensure you stay on track. This avocado, mango, and spinach smoothie mixed with a scoop of BCRX vanilla protein was just what I needed this morning to get me going. And don’t worry if you’re out of flash-frozen fruits and veggies, just mix your BCRX protein with water and it’s good to go as a meal replacement!

A LITTLE SELF CARE
During this time I have been finding solace in simple things. If you already follow me on social you already know I am an avid music lover and I’m always lighting candles in my home as a part of my “self care”. So, here we are. A lit candle and some music. Last weekend I discovered the ultimate “quarantine party” when D-Nice played all my jams from sun up to sun down. I danced the night away right there in my home, and you know I actually woke up the next morning like I had really been to a party?! Were you there?!? Music is so therapeutic and really has been a Godsend for me during this time. From John P. Kee to Chaka Kahn…music gets me through, y’all!

GRATEFULNESS 🙏🏽
If nothing else during this time, my biggest takeaway is how grateful I am for my family, my team, and you. We truly are a family here, and I appreciate the love and support that you all share with me and with each other. In the coming weeks I intend to stay connected with you and check back in. I hope you will check in with us, too!

In the meantime, I pray that you all are safe and well. I am here for you. You are here for me. We are here for each other.
